OSISA- Website Revamp Concepts

Overview:

OSISA is a prominent African institution dedicated to deepening democracy, protecting human rights, and enhancing good governance across Southern Africa. Conté Africa has maintained a four-year strategic partnership with OSISA, collaborating on comprehensive digital transformation, brand evolution, and event strategy initiatives.

Project Description:

Conté Africa was tasked with revitalising OSISA’s digital presence through a complete website redesign and brand refresh in 2018. The challenge was to transform an outdated, dysfunctional website into a powerful tool for advocacy and engagement, aligning with OSISA’s mission to drive social change.

Key Strategies:

  1. Digital Transformation:
    • Conducted a thorough audit of the existing website, identifying critical usability and functionality issues.
    • Developed a user-centric information architecture to enhance navigation and content discoverability.
    • Implemented responsive design principles to ensure accessibility across all devices.
  2. Brand Evolution:
    • Created a comprehensive brand style guide, drawing inspiration from OSISA’s existing logo.
    • Expanded the color palette strategically, introducing secondary colors to complement the primary green, enhancing visual coherence and brand recognition.
  3. Content Strategy:
    • Restructured content to highlight OSISA’s key programmes and grant opportunities.
    • Developed a content hierarchy that clearly communicates the organization’s goals and impact.
  4. User Experience Design:
    • Implemented intuitive navigation and clear call-to-action elements to guide users effectively.
    • Designed engaging interactive elements to increase user engagement and time on site.
  5. Performance Optimization:
    • Employed best practices in web development to ensure fast loading times and smooth functionality.
    • Implemented robust error handling and quality assurance processes to eliminate non-functional elements.
  6. Multichannel Integration:
    • Integrated the website with OSISA’s social media and campaign platforms for cohesive messaging.
    • Developed a strategy for consistent branding across all digital touchpoints and event materials.

Outcomes: The redesigned website significantly enhanced OSISA’s digital presence, resulting in increased user engagement, longer session durations, and improved reach for their campaigns. The new brand guidelines ensured consistency across all communications, strengthening OSISA’s visual identity and recognition in the region.
